I have been a country music fan my whole life, and I see no reason not to be today.  I love it, all of it, and last night’s Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards was fun and exciting.  The fashion was also really great too.  Now most people do not sit around and equate fashion and country music, but country singers have got style too.  It might be a little different and involve cowboy boots thrown into the mix, but it is a style nonetheless.  

Without further adieu, let’s look at some of my favorite fashions from last night’s awards, shall we?

Carrie Underwood, while never over the top or too fashion forward, always makes a splash on the red carpet.  She is gorgeous and her dress is perfect for her.  I love the neutral color on her!

I love Sugarland!  Jennifer Nettles’ dress is so much fun.  The yellow belt paired with that electric pink is just too awesome.  This is something that I would definitely wear.  Kristian Bush looks classic in black, and the hat dresses it down just enough for the ACMs.

This girl has seriously been popping on the red carpets recently.  In this white J. Mendel dress with gold accents she looks stunning.

Could Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum be any cuter!  I mean, she is adorable.  I love this black dress on her, and I think the sleeves are a nice touch to really elongate the arms.  It is not my favorite of the night, but I think it is the perfect dress for her.

I am not absolutely sold on this look, but I think it just looks like the fabric hangs funny to me.  Otherwise, love Miranda Lambert in gold and I think she looks great!

I suppose I should just be glad that she didn’t show up in a bikini, but LeAnn Rimes’ look just did not do it for me.  She looks silly, and her hair looks strange.  This is one loko I could have definitely done without.

One example of this madness would have to be the Kardashian Klan.  I am sorry, but what have these people ever really done?  If you ask me the most talented of the whole group is not even a Kardashian, but the step-dad Bruce Jenner who was an Olympic runner.  But even now he has become sort of weird the older he gets.  Maybe it is all that hair dye the sixty-three year old is using to keep up a younger appearance…who knows?

On Monday night at the Performance 3D demonstration that was held in New York City Mr. Jenner had a chat with US Weekly about his daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner.  The two made their debut on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” in the year 2007.  Since then they have used that to get modeling gigs and get involved with teen fashion.  If they were anyone else, they would not have those opportunities. They’d have normal jobs like serving, administration, or window installation.

Dad Jenner even talked about the girls’ schooling saying that they might not be going off to get higher education at a college.  And why should they?  Everything else in life has been handed to them, so they will likely have huge high paying jobs anyways without having to work their butts off to get there and then payback school loans.  Jenner said,

If they want to go to college, certainly, I think it’s a good idea.  But I’m not the advocate of, ‘You’ve got to go to college!’  I think by the time they graduate from high school, they will probably be in a position to go right into working.

The former Harry Potter star has designed an ethical collection of winter clothing for London-based fashion company People Tree.  This makes Watson one of the few very high profile fair trade fashionistas, and she hopes it’s a trend that will catch on.  Add Watson’s good trade ethics to her natural beauty, and what’s not to love?  The Harry Potter movies will disappear from store shelves soon, but with directv packages, you’ll be able to see them.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has graced the cover of Teen Vogue a few times, and for good reason.  Her red carpet style is dazzling, elegant, and current.  Even in the midst of her famous boyfriend’s paternity lawsuit, Gomez hasn’t missed a beat, showing up at the Beverly Hilton last Tuesday night for the Stars gala to benefit the Fulfillment Fund, which supports underprivileged people in their quest for a college education.

It’s no surprise our girl wanted to look like a princess on her wedding day. Looking great is what Kim gets paid to do, so when you’re a celebrity with the luxury of having your hair and make up done professionally every single day, how do you find the perfect wedding day look?

Her beauty team told People magazine:

“We wanted to make her an amazing movie star from the ’40s, ’50s, ’60s; like Sophia Loren or Ava Gardner or Elizabeth Taylor,” says Peter Savic, who created Kardashian’s intricate chignon. “She looked very polished. It was classic and tasteful yet exotic.” While Savic had seen the main gown — and he and Kardashian had traded ideas — the two didn’t have any trials. “I just created it that day,” he says.

Makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic was responsible for Kim’s makeup on her wedding day. “She wanted to look like the most polished and beautiful version of herself,” he says. He kept her polished, natural, and nothing too out of the ordinary. It needed to be a look that would last hours of celebration.

His finishing touch? The lips of course. He perfected Kim’s pout using YSL Dessin des Levres lip liner in Nude Beige and Lancôme’s L’Absolu Nu lipstick in Coral Sand (a sheer peachy hue), adding a final touch of shine with Lancôme La Laque Fever lip gloss in Ravishing Coral.
